My System

My systems name is golaith.
golaith started out in a full tower case, I always need lots of room
and I quickly outgrew the case, and faced with the price of a server case,
I got creative and doubled my case size, for a total investment of 110.00,
I took 2 full tower cases and bolted them togeather, instead of stacking
the harddrives one ontop of another, with no room for ventilation, I could
now spread them out. and put them into 5 1/4 inch bays with extra fans
plus have plenty of room to run cables

Before

After

golaith is an Intel pentium III, 933 Mhz.
with 256 megs of PC-133 ram
an A-bit BX-133 raid motherboard
capable of 8 IDE devices
with 2 30 gig harddrives
a 40 Gig harddrive
a 10 gig harddrive also a 5 gig and a 6 gig
250 meg zip drive
DVD player
and a sony CDRW

golaith has gone thru an upgrade he is now a Intel pentium 4, 3.2 Mhz.
with 1 gig of ram
with 2 200 gig harddrives
250 meg zip drive
DVD burner

As you can see from the side view
things are quite busy inside there
Golaith has 12 5-1/4 inch bays
and 12 3-1/2 inch bays
plenty of room
in the upper left corner is a 3 way switch
this allows you to have 3 harddrives with different operating systems on them
I know there is software to do this, but this way totally isolates the drives from each other
so my 3 primary drives are mounted below the switch in the next 3 bays down.

my newest mod was the extra power supply,
to run just the case fans and the 15 feet of rope light inside the case
I put that in so the lights and extra fans wouldn't strain my power
supply for the main area of the computer
It is an old AT power supply I had lying around
notice the switch just above the floppy drive
